Canada’s first ever ‘swimming pool’ to be built in Sydney

The world’s first swimming pool for people with autism is set to open in Sydney’s CBD, the first of its kind in Australia.

The $1.3-million, five-storey, three-room facility is a joint venture between the City of Sydney and the NSW Government, which is funding the project.

The swimming pool is designed to accommodate two adults and two children.

It has a water feature, which means water can be swirled up and out of the pool, and an air conditioning system.

The pool is connected to a hot tub.

The facility will have three indoor swimming pools, two outdoor swimming pools and two hot tubs, and the swimming pool will have a total of 12,000 square feet of space.

In addition to the pool itself, the facility will also house a mental health clinic, an academic training centre and the city’s first high-level, state-of-the-art, autism research facility.

“We want to make sure that we’re taking advantage of the most appropriate technology available to help children, to help them with learning, to provide them with the opportunity to be engaged with people that have autism, and to provide that space for them to be in contact with people in their community,” Sydney Mayor Clover Moore said.

The NSW Government is hoping to have the pool open to the public by the end of the year.
